Koco Koga: Fiji Random Character

Koco Koga is a character in Black Streak’s comedy manga Fiji Random (FR).  She is the best friend of the main character, Fiji, and she is very smart. By smart I mean book smart. She has tip top grades in her class but she lacks common sense. She’s not smart when it comes to real world stuff and this makes her look like an airhead to people who don’t know her well. Koco is lousy at solving riddles. Fiji knows this very well and asks her to solve them all the time to get a rise out out of her.

The cover of the first volume was designed to look like a game over, like a Xbox game box. Not only is the cover video game inspired, the structure of it’s content is video game like as well. Our Journey to the Mainstream

The Raimey Brothers’ Journey to Bring More Black and Latino Representation to Pop Culture

Growing up in the 90s, my brother and I were big fans of superhero cartoons like Spider-Man, Batman, TMNT and Ghostbusters. Back in those days, there were very few characters who looked like us and shared our personal experiences. Heck, even Star Wars only had one brotha in the entire galaxy – albeit a very suave and smooth brotha – but he was the only one!
